We’re pleased to welcome Tony Lombari to our team. Tony will be our seasonal Piermaster for the Barbican Landing Stage; working weekends to take visitor mooring bookings, provide a warm welcome to visiting crew and be available to answer any questions visitors may have.
Tony says:
“I’m proud to be the Piermaster of the Barbican Landing Stage; a unique gateway from the ocean to the heart of Plymouth. Few places allow you to sail your craft right into the city and step off into a world rich in historic maritime treasures and the lively atmosphere of the Barbican. This gateway offers so much more than you might expect, which is exactly how I ended up here. Eight years ago, during a yacht delivery, I walked into the Barbican and instantly fell in love with the place. I went home, sold everything, and moved here to start a new life.
As a retired special operations police officer, I’ve spent my entire professional life working alongside the maritime community. Now, I’m incredibly fortunate to serve the community for whom the Barbican Landing Stage is essential for both work and play.
If you have any issues, questions, or just fancy a chat, look around the Pier, and you’ll spot me. If not, ask one of the superb skippers or their staff to call me for you.
If you’ve arrived by sea, why not stay the night on our new walk-ashore Mayflower Pontoon right here at the Barbican Landing Stage? But be warned—once Plymouth gets under your skin, you may never want to leave!”
