Initiatives – Planet

We have undertaken navigation channel widening to allow access by larger and more efficient vessels and modal shift to divert road haulage to water transport. Additionally we are investigating a domestic decarbonisation corridor Cornwall (Fowey) to Devon (CHC)

We have supported the arrival of a new local operator partner, Recycle It Global (RIG) based at Neptune Park

We are investigating floating solar (Hooe Lake) and land based solar (Barbican Landing Stage walkway roof). We are also exploring the use of heat pumps with partners. We have initiated studies looking at implementation of shore power for Cattewater Harbour and third parties – building on existing supplies already provided for leisure craft

We have a duty to clean up and manage abandoned vessels, at sea and inland waterways

We support restoration of local Seagrass meadows and protection of their aquatic residents by providing marine assets to assist with these initiatives

We continue to support ongoing and expanding Seaweed farming, reducing need for artificial fertilizers in agriculture

We are starting to quantify and report against metrics for Biodiversity Net Gain and Marine Net Gain

We support trade associations such as British Ports Association develop, implement and leverage tools such as Net Zero Maturity Assessment and contribute our data including starting to provide Scope emissions
