2024 – a year in review

As 2024 (our 150th Anniversary Year) draws to a close here’s some of this year’s key highlights, facts and figures for Cattewater Harbour:

  • Numerous 150th anniversary celebrations including a fantastic Dinner at The Box and Civic Reception at Lady Astor’s residence
  • 821 piloted moves
  • Barbican Landing Stage use
  • Record number of superyacht visits
  • Most cruise ship visits for a considerable time, next year we will add to this year’s total
  • Over 50’000 additional passenger movements from the new Mayflower Pontoon
  • Attracted third party investment of £1.4 million to complete three large projects
  • Removed the vast majority of all the self-maintained moorings from SHA area resulting in a vastly reduced ‘failure rate’
  • New members of staff recruited, who have quickly become key team members, improving resilience, and the knowledge pool, and said goodbye and ‘happy retirement’ to one of our longest serving team members
  • Welcomed new operators to the Port including Clarksons, Graypen Group, and Recycle it Global
  • A team social afternoon out on the Bessie Ellen swimming and paddleboarding
  • Built on our working relationship with Serco on various levels
  • Investment in waterside estate in the Cattewater through a JV
  • Investment in marine assets through a JV
  • PS Waverley visit in August to celebrate our 150th Anniversary
  • The Harbour has been represented locally, as well as further afield, from Belfast to Hamburg, Westminster to Malaga
  • 2’045’024 tonnes of cargo imported and exported through the port.
