Local, independent businesses on Commercial Wharf are coming together to host a family-friendly event this Saturday (4 April). The day will feature a variety of stalls, live entertainment, and food and drink stands, alongside popular resident businesses including Bertie’s, Smashland Burgers, Rise & Grind, and The Boathouse.
There will be something for all ages, from face painting and a slime stall for younger visitors, to a fish market showcasing the catch of the day, hosted by the team from The Boathouse. The Royal Marine gig rowing team will also be attending the event.
Live music will take place on the main stage from 12pm, sponsored by Cattewater Harbour. Performers will include local singers Jodie, Michael Collings, and Liam Bel-Veker.
Additional temporary seating will be installed along the wharf for the event, creating a welcoming space for both locals and visitors to the Barbican to relax, enjoy food and drink, and support independent businesses.
Last year, Plymouth City Council and Cattewater Harbour Commissioners agreed a long-term lease for Commercial Wharf, enabling the Commissioners to invest in, improve, and directly manage the location.
