It was a pleasure to welcome MS The World to Plymouth last week for her inaugural visit to Britain’s Ocean City.
Pilot Richard Eggleton had the role of piloting her in to Plymouth Sound, before the traditional exchange of Port and vessel Plaques with the Master.
Feedback from the vessel was very positive, with all the residents and the majority of crew all coming ashore, tendered direct into the Barbican to enjoy the jewel of Plymouth, the Barbican and the Hoe.
Harbour Master Captain Richard Allan was pleased to see Plymouth businesses benefiting from visitors from the ship, with the vast majority of visitors staying in the city. Guest experiences included playing golf, sea swimming at Firestone Bay with Lewis Pugh, tours of St Andrews Church, The Box and, of course, the night life provided by the Barbican on Friday night was highly spoken of.
